HDFC Bk sees negative territory in June

Inflation for week-ended May 16 remained unchanged at 0.61% week-on-week (WoW). A CNBC-TV18 poll conducted earlier saw inflation at 0.69%. The Wholesale Price Index (WPI) for all commodities was up 0.1% at 232.2 WoW. Inflation for week-ended March 21 has been revised to 0.84% as against the provisional figure of 0.31%. Commenting on the numbers, Abheek Baruah, Chief Economist, HDFC Bank said he expected inflation to be in the negative territory this June.
